Charcuterie Boards for the win!
Charcuterie boards are all the rage right now. They are perfect for entertaining and everyone can just grab and go as they please.
Not only are they perfect for entertaining guests, but great for the family too for brunch, desserts, movie night in, or just mid day snacking.
I usually build my grazing basic boards with this list in mind to base it off of:
- A cheese
- A fruit
- A meat
- Crackers
- Olives
- A veggie
- A dip
- A sweet
However there are soooo many boards you can make! Many of the items you can find at your local Aldi (the lowest prices I’ve found) or a Farmer’s Market to support your local vendors. You can also cook up a storm or buy premade to create in a cinch. Here are a couple of ideas for a few great spreads:
- Brunch Board - mini quiche, mini bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon, variety of fruit, turkey sausage links, roasted potatoes, a sweet puff pastry or waffles with a maple dip and honey butter spread.
- Budget Board - Cheese: Gouda, brick of sharp or white cheddar, Deli meat rolled into rolls, Triscuits or Ritz wheat crackers, fresh grapes, peanuts, fresh veggies on hand or broccoli/English cucumber, and ranch. Roughly $25 and enough food to replenish throughout or to use another time.
- Fancy Board - Crostini with Goat cheese and fig spread, Smoked Salmon, deli honey smoked turkey sliced into minis and rolled, water crackers, Mediterranean crackers or flatbread crackers, prosciutto, dry aged salami, Sage Derby Cheese, Aged English White Cheddar, herbed mixed olives and/or kalamata, goat cheese and sliced pears with honey to drizzle, dark chocolate espresso beans, and honey cinnamon roasted pecans.
